Romantic States is music made by Jim Triplett, of the now hibernating(?) Videohippos, from Baltimore Maryland. Romantic States has so far released three singles on beko-dsl, and a full length cassette on Tater Junction.This most recent release is a six song EP titled “Still Petals”, coming out on beko-dsl, a French net-label with releases by Memoryhouse, Eternal Summers, Wet Hair, Sore Eros, and more. The Still Petals EP was written by Triplett and recorded with the help of sound engineering wizards Jared Paolini and Craig Bowen.
Live performances are made possible with the help of keyboardist Ilenia Madelaire. Notable shows have included Whartscape 2010, Soft Fest 2010, and opening for Future Islands at the Black Cat in Washington DC.
